Semi Pro helmer Kent Alterman is attached to direct and develop Treehouse Gang.

 

Described as a “grown up Goonies”, the film is based on Timothy Dowling’s spec script, which follows a group of six childhood friends who get together in their late twenties for a treasure hunt that echoes the hunts of their youth, in the process exploring long-time friendships and grudges.


Alterman is a former New Line executive who oversaw and served as executive producer on a slew of the studio’s hits, including “Elf” and “A History of Violence.” He made his directorial debut with the 2008 Will Ferrell comedy “Semi-Pro.”
