Card counting drama ‘21’ is this weekend’s ace card in the American box office charts bringing in a whopping $23.7 million in the US.
Based on the book ‘Bringing Down the House’ and produced by Oscar winner Kevin Spacey, the hip gambling saga beat the likes of ‘Dr. Seuss’ Horton hears a Who’ and spoof flick ‘Superhero Movie’ from the top spot.
The film, with a cast including Jim Sturgess, Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth, marks director Robert Luketic’s biggest opening, and his first drama. He previously directed “Legally Blonde” and “Monster-in-Law.”
