1970s Spy Series IT TAKES A THIEF Heading To The Big Screen

Classic TV series getting big screen treatment…

Variety has learned that Universal Pictures is planning a big screen action-adventure inspired by Roland Kibbee’s 1970s TV series ‘It Takes A Thief.’

Starring Robert Wagner, the series ran from 1968 to 1970 and followed the exploits of cat burglar, pickpocket, and thief Alexander Mundy, who works for the U.S. government in return for his release from prison.

The studio has brought in newcomer scribe Greg Russo (‘Heatseekers,’ ‘Black Ice’) to pen the script.

John Davis and Joseph Singer are on board to produce with Derek Dauchy and Scott Bernstein overseeing development.
